School attendance is vital to students' achievement. Students who develop patterns of good attendance are much more likely to be successful both academically and socially. When students attend school they get better grades and score better on standardized test. It is our responsibility to teach students the importance of attendance now so they are prepared for the future. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that their children attend school daily. When parents are at work, students should be safe at school. Thank you all for improving this year. We look forward to greater improvements in the future. Remember: ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

What is STEAM?
STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. At Atwater Avenue School, this means the integration of these subjects through Collaboration, Cooperation and Communication with the goal of preparing all students for the challenges of the 21st Century. Every job of the future, even those that you wouldn't expect, will require at least some basic STEAM skills--skills that are transferable and needed in every job sector. Our students are problem solvers, innovators, inventors, and critical thinkers. They engage in socially conscious Project-Based learning opportunities, in matters that are inquiry-based, hands-on and that more closely align with what students will experience in college and the workforce. STEAM education provides the foundation for every child to be successful in college, work, and life.
